Collection for New Horizons
New Horizons for New Hampshire, Manchester’s Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry and Homeless Shelter
will be partnering with St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral to raise funds during this year's Glendi
Celebration.
Volunteers from New Horizons will be collecting cash donations at Glendi which will be used to provide
meals and groceries for families and individuals who are facing challenges in their lives. St. George
Church and the Glendi Committee will also match the first $5,000 collected by the volunteers.
Each day New Horizons Soup Kitchen provides over 200 meals to families and individuals and every
month over 1,000 Manchester families and individuals come to New Horizons Food Pantry for groceries.
“These are very challenging times for so many of our friends and neighbors and it is important that a
place like New Horizons exists to provide food and shelter”, said Charlie Sherman, Executive Director of
New Horizons for New Hampshire. “To have the opportunity to partner with St. George Church and to
be able to be a part of the Glendi celebration will help greatly in our mission”, Sherman added.

Volunteering at Glendi...
Many volunteers have been busy in the kitchen of the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester, preparing the many desserts, and dishes that will be offered at this year’s Glendi. These volunteers have donated their time by cooking, by setting up, by planning, or preparing for this huge event.
Without this tremendous group of volunteers behind Glendi, we would not be able to share this event with everyone. It’s the support and the dedication that the people in our community have given to Glendi that makes this event as successful as it is.
